At a time where we are embarking on developing, creating, considering how and what we will do/have done in the development of a graduate profile and resulting curriculum - 'we' are our best resources. Developing a Graduate Profile
School are now being asked to develop a Graduate Profile and a school based curriculum over the next two years
Where are some possible places to begin?
Prinicipal from school - East Coast, level 2 MM - process of development included:
Starting point - initial discussions with staff – brainstorming
Whanau consultation – group discussions, hui conducted a long similar lines as staff hui
Information was organised and analysed in terms of commonalities, connects, differences between information provided by both groups
Initial fear - 'what teacher and whanau think and wanted in terms of a graduate profile would be 'poles' apart. These fears where shortlived, analysis of information revealed that by in large whakaaro both groups were of similar thinking.
Student voice - Senior teachers are currently working with students to encourage their discussions and voice in the overall look and picture of this graduate profile
